My Beta site

We have been providing free hosting with lot of features for last 2 years with absolutely no Ads on member pages. We had to close new registrations for last several months due to lack of resources. And for last few months, our monthly revenue from AspSpider.com was not even sufficient to pay the rent for the servers, which are hosted in a world class data center in USA !!

Considering various factors including feedback from our members, we are planning to introduce Ads on member pages. To avoid frustrating Ads on members pages, we have decided to try a different type of Ad system.

When someone browse any member pages, the 4th hit and then every 7th hit will be automatically redirected to a page in our website which contain Ads. Our Ad page will stay for 7 seconds and then will be automatically redirected back to the original page where the visitor was supposed to be in. Visitors will NOT be redirected to Ad page during any page SUBMIT.

Starting from today (10/10/2007), we are testing ContentLink In-text Ads. You may see some of the words in your pages highlighted with double underline which are Ad words. We get paid when someone click on those Ads.

We have tried our best to make this least annoying as possible. Please feel free to post your feedback.

..ONLY IF POSSIBLE, I'd prefer to have a "nice and always
on" ASPSPIDER.COM BANNER on my homepage, instead of the redirection, because it do not work well with Firefox 2.0.0.8 (the page hangs, the icon don't rotate and there isn't a link to go from there to my homepage
(please add it :-) )

Place ads on home page was much better redirection.
I do also placed the link back ads on my site.

bcoz sometimes this redirection have problem..

so if users pages have banners than it will be good. and users  like to see the contents..

We are listening ! The redirection Ad is discontinued.

Starting from today, we are testing ContentLink In-text Ads. You may see some of the words in your pages highlighted with double underline which are Ad words. We get paid when someone click on those Ads.

(The total revenue we received from those Ads in last 2 weeks is less than US$ 50, which is not even 10% of our monthly cost to run this show!! Most of the members hosted here are expereinced webmasters and takes too much care NOT to click on Ads !!)

As for me, redirection was better.
I never click on such in-text ads.
Will you get paid if these in-text ads i open in new windows?
Cause i'll click with pleasure on them without redirection. It Good enough to make these ads to be opened in new windows or tabs.

I think, the best way will be auto rotating ads using jscript (or ajax) - nice banners, normal size. And possibility to place ads where i think better - bottom, left, right sides.

What banners could i set at site on your hosting?

kill the specific page design?
Like in my case.
It is interffering with sofisticated custom web control and javascript of main and as resutl it kills it.
Looks like you guys did not yet tested it properly.
SECONDLY:
If you want us to advertise something, I will create a
special place somewhere for spinning yours adds,
BUT INSERTING YOUR CODE INTO OURS IS A NOT VERY GOOD IDEA.
You cannot anticipate all possible cases of scenarios and
in complex cases, like main ther result is not very good.

Our Ad Insert system will insert the Ad script just before the closing Body tag. We welcome all suggestions and will try to improve our system continuously.

In your case, the news scroll is messed up for some other reasons, not because our Ad script. I temporarily suspended our Ad system and verified it.

One of your news item has a tag which make our system to insert the Ad script in the wrong place. However, removing Ad Script or fixing our Ad Script will not solve your problem. You need to figure out why.

AsSpider hosting services is offered to members for educational purpose. However, we need to make some money to survive. We tried various advertising mechanisms, based on various suggestions from members. None of them including the current one does not help us make the money we spend for this free service.

We expect you to co operate with the Ad system we test from time to time. We will be happy to listen to your suggestions and improve the system.

Actually, to support the free hosting. I do not mind that place ads such as google's on web page.

But I do wish that it can choose where the ads are placed.
Such as placing ad code or define a div element with specific id that used for automatically ads code insertion.

Also, the content-link ads it seems work fine but only changed some uppercase text on page.
Do I have option to change it back ?

Can we Have transperent a logo of AspSpider.net or may be a catchy swiff file of the same so that we can embed that on our webpage. It wont destruct the looks of our page and same time will look gr8 on a menbers page. Definitely we can create by ourselves but to mantain the unformity and AspSpider Identity we need it from ASPSpider team.
