When trying to use the control panel this AM, I was met with the following rathe unfriendly message;
"As part of your hosting agreement with AspSpider, you are required to post atleast 5 ASP.NET resources or answers in the forum.
All resources posted must be valid content and self written. Content copied from other sites are strictly not allowed and in such cases, your account may be permantently blocked.
You can use the FileManager only after you meet the above requirement."
I am new to asp.net and as yet hav not got all of the answers like this message seems to imply that I should. I have been busy trying to find answers to my questions such as: aspnetcb.mdf too large to use on the asp.net server under free web hosting - how to get around thi, and what happens during deploynent of the website that works flawlwssly on the local asp.net server yet refuses to work when uploaded to the ASpSPIDER server. How am I or anyone suffering from the same lack of knowledge and understanding as myself (and I feel there are many) supposed to make informed posts in the forum ? Sometimes its better to keep your mouth closed and let everyone think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove any doubt.
I dont think this post will do a whole lot tward letting me use the control panel again, as a matter of fact, it may go a long way in getting me kicked off or otherwise blocked from the ASPSPIDER.ner web hosting facility. I hope that the "TEAM" will rethink this particular policy and somehow come to realize that we are not all whizzes - some of us are actually trying to learn something. Oh well....................

I'm new to ASP Spider, but I've been doing .NET for a while. I agree that you probably don't know the "best" question, but I think ASP Spider is trying to create a good resource for developers of .NET applications. I'm sure as a newbie, you must have some question that can be answered. Even if it's what books do you recommend to learn .net 3.5 or Silverlight...
I think 5 a month is way too much, but the folks at ASP Spider will find a good balance eventually.

Hi GB - Thanks for your reply - appreciated:
I understand what you are saying and for the most part agree.
I only joined registered with ASP Spider a cpl weeks ago and I have asked one question about the size of the .mdf file when it is created via the web config utility. I received an answer telling me to make it smaller - no explanation on how to accomplish that, and also was asked if I needed the database that that utility created....well - only If i need the login with usrename/password function to keep unauthorized people out of the data editing area. I received a second reply telling me that I should have used "file exixts" rather than "new file" - again no explanation on how that is done. It seems as if it is assumed that the one asking the question already knows a lot - I only know enough to get myself into trouble and I am trying the best way that I know how to learn. I dont know.......maybe I don't know enough to be here and it is a way for ASP Spider to separate the wheat from the chaff. Still, I sure wish someone would come up with a document called ASP.Net for the Dumb and Dumber. I need help and now don't know exactly where to get it....I can't do what I need to do with HTML!
Thanks again
