A good thing about Microsoft SDK's is that they provide complete reference for any technology that the SDK is for, and also allow complete download if it. You would find that the .NET framework SDK is more than what most developers would need to work with a technology. A SDK is no substitute for a book, but it is a good reference to have once you get the hang of things and start to work on a technology for longer periods.
I always download all SDK's from Microsoft. They serve good reference.

The ASP.NET site does contain various resources (
http://www.asp.net/learn
/). They have video's for specific features but also full tutorials for specific tasks, such as how to build a Master/Detail data view etc...
If that doesn't help you, check out some of the starter kits.
If I may suggest a good book:
ASP.NET Unleashed by SAMS press is really good
And if you want a deep technical background
I would suggest Professional ASP.NET by WROX
