XMLHttpRequest object calls to web services
03 Apr, 2008
Author:

Summary
Allowing AJAX XMLHttpRequest calls to work with a webservice
.NET Classes used :
None. web.config entry only.
While looking for a reason as to why I couldn't get my Javascript client function to call a webservice I ran across a resource posted here that talked about enabled Web Service Testing from a non-local host:
http://www.aspspider.com/resources/Resource636.aspx
I discovered that adding those webservice protocol entries to the web.config also also my Javascript XMLHttpRequest object to successfully call the webservice.
This may be useful for those of you trying to get AJAX type functions to work.
